About The Department:
Department of Home Economics was Established in 1994.
Home Economics is a subject of variety. It includes Home Management, Interior Decoration, Nutrition, Textile, Human Development, Food Processing & Preservation, Health & Care etc. This all helps students to gain basic knowledge for Self-employment.
Caters to teaching learning and evaluation of Home Economics subject in B.A. programme.
Efforts are made for the overall personality development of girl students from this rural area.

- Worked as a member of Board of Studies Rashtra Sant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur.
- Worked as a Chairperson of Board of Studies Gondwana University, Gadchiroli.
- Framed the Syllabus in Semester Pattern for Gondwana University.
- The University implemented Choice Base Credit System from the academic year 2016-2017. As a chairperson, framed the
entire syllabus for CBCS.

Major Activities:
- On the Occasion of International Millets Year 2023 Lecture on “Dietary Importance of Millets” was organized on 7th September 2023.
- Interactive Session on Hygien and Health Checkup was organized for girl students on the occasion of ‘World Women Day’.
- One day workshop was organized on ‘Self-Employment as a Make-up Artist’.
- On the occasion of Savitribai Fule Birth Anniversary, guest lecture was organized on 'Atmanirbhar Bharat'.
- On the occasion of World Breast Feeding Week, State Level Conference and Slogan competition was organized in collaboration with Home Economics Association, Nagpur on 6th August 2021.
- Workshops were organized for the students of Home Economics on 'Decorating Tarcoal Pots', ‘Flower Arrangement’, ‘Rangoli’ etc.
